Spain is the best country to study abroad. Spanish customs and traditions have been practiced for hundreds of years and in each of the regions of Spain has unique traditions that emphasize regional identity and differences. With any other study abroad provider, you need to choose one city or region for study abroad in Spain. Voyager Study Abroad is the expert in multi-city programs and with Voyager Spain, you will study in Castilian Spain – Madrid, Segovia and Toledo; Catalan Spain – Barcelona and Girona; Valencia Spain – Valencia; Basque Spain – La Rioja, Bilbao, San Sebastian; and Galician Spain – Granada, Seville, Malaga and Cordoba. Unlike other study abroad programs, Voyager Spain includes amazing cultural activities like a Spanish cooking class (paella and sangria), flamenco show, champagne (cava) tasting, wine tasting, tapas tasting, pintxos tasting (Basque snacks), walking tours in most cities and much more. Voyager Spain provides an unrivaled cultural immersion experience and more of Spain than any other program.
Voyager Spain participants have a home-away-from-home in Spain. From the first day until the last day, participants have their own room in a modern, air-conditioned, residence with private bath and kitchenette in an upscale university neighborhood in Madrid – Spain’s capital city. Participants have unlimited access to the on-premises fitness center and rooftop pool. They are served their choice of breakfast and lunch or dinner daily in the restaurant at the residence. There is also an onsite laundry.
Since our participants keep their room at the residence for the entire program, they do not check out when we travel to the other cities and regions. Why is this important? We travel often and our participants take with them only what they need. Our participants can safely leave their personal possessions behind in their own room. We travel for a few days to another region of Spain and then return to Madrid. We take a separate trip to each region of Spain during the program.
When we are in Madrid, our participants take classes on the campus of our sponsor, Endicott International – College of International Studies (CIS). CIS is a close and pleasant walk from the residence. Our participants receive CIS student identification and have access to the library and computer center. Our participants can earn up to six credits taking classes that are specific to the cities that we visit. Classes include Spanish for the Professions, Culture of Spain, International Business, Intercultural Communication and Global Marketing and Management.
We include far more and better class-enhancing professional and cultural activities than any other program and a one-of-kind experiential learning experience. All our classes meet or exceed accreditation standards in the USA and abroad. Transcripts for Voyager Spain are issued by Endicott College in Beverly Massachusetts. They are accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. We will assist you with the credit transfer process to your home university.
Voyager Spain travels between cities by high-speed train, coach or bus. We choose the method that is quickest, not cheapest. Most of your time in Spain is spent exploring the cities and regions on our itinerary, not in transportation to and from them. Stays outside of Madrid are in highly-rated, city-center, “Certificate of Excellence” hotels. Not in hostels or hotels that are outside of the city-center like other programs. Participants are served buffet breakfast daily when we are not in Madrid.
Spain boasts fabulous beaches and a great night-life. Beach visits in several cities (Valencia, Malaga, Bilbao, San Sebastian, Barcelona and if you choose, Ibiza) are included in the itinerary and most evenings are free. With Voyager Spain you will truly experience Spain. We have professors and staff that live in Spain and travel with the program. The introductory price is for a limited time, so apply today. Voyager Spain is a life-changing experience and a summer like no other!
